Bolgheri DOC – Villa Donoratico 2022 – Argentiera

A fine Bolgheri DOC from Argentiera, made from 45% Cabernet Sauvignon, 30% Merlot, 15% Cabernet Franc, and 10% Petit Verdot.

The wine is aged for 12 months in French and Austrian oak tonneaux and spends an additional 6 months in bottle.

Villa Donoratico 2022 shows a deep and vibrant ruby red color.

The nose is complex and refined, with aromas of ripe red fruits (blackberry, cherry), spicy notes (black pepper, cinnamon), and a balsamic, herbal background evoking rosemary and Mediterranean scrub.

On the palate, it is full-bodied, juicy, and structured, yet well-balanced, with silky but still youthful and persistent tannins. A lovely freshness carries through to a long, fruity and spicy finish.

The oak aging is well-judged, adding elegance without overpowering the fruit.
