Bolgheri Sassicaia DOC – Sassicaia 2021 – Tenuta San Guido

An iconic Bolgheri Sassicaia DOC, the only Italian label with its own dedicated DOC regulation. Crafted from Cabernet Sauvignon and Cabernet Franc, the grapes are harvested from vineyards at varying altitudes and picked at different times to capture their full expression.

After meticulous hand selection and vinification, the wine ages for 24 months in French oak barriques—40% new, 40% first passage, and the rest second passage—followed by additional refinement in the bottle.

In the glass, it shines with a luminous ruby red.

The nose is intense, already hinting at complexity and great aging potential despite its youth. Aromas of ripe cherry, raspberry, blackcurrant, blackberry, aromatic herbs, earthy notes, tobacco, and delicate wood nuances unfold with elegance.

On the palate, it evolves with every sip. It’s already well-balanced, marked by vibrant aromatic intensity, freshness, full body, fine integrated tannins, and a blend of power and elegance. The long, persistent finish is supported by a pleasant sapidity.

A wine built for the long haul, destined to reveal its greatness over time.
