Even though I’m not usually a fan of this style, Mas de Fer Prosecco stands out as one of the best.
This Valdobbiadene Prosecco DOCG is made from 100% Glera grapes grown in a meticulously tended parcel on the Rive di Soligo, at an elevation of around 500 meters. The grapes are hand-harvested, and the base wine is aged for six months before undergoing the Charmat method.
Pale lemon in color, it impresses with its persistent, fine bubbles.
On the nose, medium intensity reveals pleasant aromas of acacia flowers, yellow apple, minerality, and a citrus hint.
The palate is exceptionally balanced, with freshness perfectly complementing the extra dry dosage and aromatic intensity consistent with the nose.
A light salinity enhances the sip, while its creamy texture leads to a medium-length finish with a delicate almond note.
This Prosecco embodies the qualities of immediacy and enjoyment while showcasing remarkable craftsmanship and quality.
