Toscana IGT – Tresse 2021 – Arrighi

Crafted from grapes grown on the island of Elba, Tresse is a blend of 50% Sangiovese, 30% Syrah, and 20% Sagrantino.

The name (3 S) reflects the three varieties, with Sangiovese represented by its local biotype, Sangioveto, known for its smaller berries.

The wine undergoes 18 months of aging in amphora followed by an additional 6 months in the bottle.

In the glass, it reveals a deep ruby hue.

The nose opens with delicate floral notes of violet but is dominated by ripe red and dark fruits—cherry, strawberry, blackcurrant, and hints of blood orange—layered with black pepper, tobacco, and a subtle smoky undertone.

On the palate, it offers a balanced structure with a medium+ body. The tannins are well-integrated, providing texture without overpowering, while moderate acidity ensures a pleasant equilibrium, enhancing the wine’s aromatic intensity.

The finish is moderately long, with the potential to develop further complexity with additional bottle aging.

A well-crafted wine that captures the essence of Elba’s terroir.
