Pouilly-Fumé AOC – La Demoiselle de Bourgeois 2018 – Henri Bourgeois

The 2018 “La Demoiselle de Bourgeois” by Henri Bourgeois is a Pouilly-Fumé from the Loire Valley, made from 100% Sauvignon Blanc.

In the glass, it presents a pale lemon color with greenish reflections.

The nose is elegant and refined, opening with aromas of gooseberry, lime zest, flint, and white flowers, supported by a distinctive smoky minerality—a hallmark of the flinty soils of Pouilly-sur-Loire.

On the palate, it’s dry, medium-bodied, with high acidity that enhances the citrusy core and underlines the crisp green apple and grapefruit notes. The mid-palate offers a touch of wet stone and subtle herbaceousness, leading to a long, minerally and zesty finish.

The 2018 vintage adds some roundness and slight evolution, giving a lovely balance between vibrancy and finesse.

A textbook expression of Pouilly-Fumé with a subtle smoky signature.
