Carignano del Sulcis DOC Superiore – Terre Brune 2020 – Santadi

This wine, made from 95% Carignano and 5% Bovaledda, is grown as a free-standing bush vine on sandy soils. It undergoes maturation in new French oak barriques for 16 to 18 months, followed by 12 months of bottle aging.

In the glass, it displays an intense ruby red color.

The nose reveals remarkable complexity and elegance despite its youth, offering aromas of red and black plum, sour cherry, blueberry, slightly withered rose, Mediterranean scrub, sweet spices, vanilla, and tobacco.

On the palate, it is smooth, juicy, and warm, with powerful yet finely textured tannins that are still young but already elegant. The balance is excellent, leading to a very long, fruit-driven finish with lingering mineral and iron-like notes.

A superb expression that masterfully combines power and elegance, promising great aging potential.
