Brunello di Montalcino DOCG – 2017 – Franco Pacenti

This 100% Sangiovese from the northeast slope of the Montalcino hill in the Canalicchio area, grown at 300 meters above sea level, impresses from the first pour.

Aged for 32 months in large Slavonian and French oak casks, it presents a luminous ruby-red color with garnet reflections on the rim.

Initially, the nose is dominated by tertiary aromas, gradually unfolding into ripe red fruit like cherry and plum, alongside forest floor, mushroom, vanilla, a subtle iron note, blood orange, coffee, and hints of balsamic and toasted elements.

The palate is powerful yet smooth, with well-integrated tannins, medium-plus acidity, and remarkable balance. Flavors mirror the nose, leading to a long finish with lingering notes of ripe fruit, coffee, and toasted nuances.

An outstanding Brunello, already showing beautiful evolution, with great potential for further aging.
