Terraviva “LUÌ” 2020 is a powerful yet elegant expression of Montepulciano d’Abruzzo Colline Teramane DOCG, the only DOCG appellation in Abruzzo.
Made from organically grown grapes, it offers deep aromas of ripe black cherry, plum, and wild berries, followed by hints of licorice, tobacco, and earthy spice, balsamic notes.
On the palate, it is full-bodied and structured, with velvety tannins and vibrant acidity that provide balance and depth.
The wine is fermented with indigenous yeasts and aged for 18 months—half in stainless steel, half in neutral barriques—followed by 6 months in bottle.
I’ve visited the Terraviva winery several times, and this particular bottle was brought to me by my friend Giovanni, along with a traditional pizza marchigiana, a savory regional dish from the Marche.
